Unit 1 of the 2×1050MW (MW) coal-fired power project of Guohua Indonesia Java 7 of National Energy Group was officially put into operation on December 13th. This project is the largest thermal power unit with single capacity and independent intellectual property rights invested and constructed by Chinese enterprises overseas, and it is also the high-efficiency and environment-friendly power station with the largest installed capacity, highest parameters and most advanced technology in Indonesia.

Indonesia is the fourth largest country in the world in terms of population and the first economy in Southeast Asia. Population growth and economic development have led to a continuous increase in domestic demand for electricity. However, due to the relatively backward power infrastructure, Indonesia's power supply is chronically insufficient and there is a huge gap in power demand. Data show that Indonesia's per capita electricity consumption of 1012 kWh in 2017 was only 1/4 of that of neighboring Malaysia.

The Indonesian government at the end of 2014 developed a five-year new 35,000MW installed capacity “power installation planning”, of which the Indonesian national power company to build 15,000MW, independent power producers (IPP) to build 20,000MW, Indonesia Java 7 project is one of the medium-term planning of the IPP project.

After the overall commissioning of the Java 7 project in Indonesia, the annual power generation capacity will be about 15 billion kWh, which will effectively improve the status quo of regional power supply in Indonesia, alleviate the tense situation of power consumption in Java, and promote local economic growth and social development.
