Frameless Torque Motor Concept

The frameless torque motor is a special type of servo motor whose design abandons the external frame of a traditional motor and consists of only two parts, the rotor and the stator, where the rotor is the rotating part and the stator is the fixed part, containing the coil and the magnet. This structural design makes the motor more compact as a whole, freeing up mechanical installation space and facilitating internal alignment layout. 

Meanwhile, with continuous output torque and high-precision motion control capability as the core performance index, it adopts closed-loop control and is widely used in the robotics industry as an important component for driving joint motion.

Advantages of frameless torque motor

The characteristics and advantages of frameless torque motors over framed motors are: small size, light weight, and improved performance at the same time. Frameless eliminates the motor housing for the structure, reducing the necessary size and weight. At the same time, frameless torque motors with more compact construction and better torque/volume ratios gain higher torque densities, greater heat dissipation, and flexibility for customized systems. 

Separate stator and rotor assemblies allow for integration into the load, taking up less machine space while effectively improving machine efficiency and performance. In addition, frameless torque motors reduce mechanical wear and maintenance requirements, lowering overall operating costs and making them the ideal drive solution for high-precision, high-response scenarios.
