Four common permanent magnet materials in the market
Four common permanent magnet materials in the market
At present, the commonly used permanent magnet materials in the market include neodymium magnets, samarium cobalt magnets, aluminum nickel cobalt magnets, and ferrite magnets. If these types of magnets are arranged in descending order of magnetization, they are neodymium magnets, samarium cobalt magnets, aluminum nickel cobalt magnets, and ferrite magnets.

1. Neodymium magnet

Neodymium iron boron magnets are composed of neodymium, iron, and boron (Nd2Fe14B). It is also the most commonly used rare earth magnet.

Neodymium magnets can be divided into sintered neodymium iron boron magnets and bonded neodymium iron boron magnets. Bonded neodymium iron boron magnets have all-round magnetism and corrosion resistance, while permanent magnet materials are easily corroded and require electroplating on the surface. Common coatings include zinc plating, nickel plating, etc.

2. Samarium cobalt magnet

SmCo magnet is another type of rare earth magnet. This is a magnet made by mixing spears, cobalt, and other metals into an alloy, followed by crushing, pressing, and sintering aluminum alloy. The maximum operating temperature range is 350 ° C.

Has strong corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance,

3. Aluminum nickel cobalt magnet

Aluminum nickel cobalt magnet is an aluminum alloy composed of small amounts of metal elements such as aluminum, nickel, cobalt, and iron. The composition of its metal components and magnetic properties are different, and its main uses are also different. Aluminum nickel cobalt magnets have three different manufacturing processes: forging, calcination, and bonding. The forging process is suitable for producing and manufacturing magnets with different specifications, models, and shapes. Compared with products manufactured by forging process, products manufactured by sintering process have smaller dimensions, smaller tolerance sizes for rough products produced by this manufacturing process, and better mechanical casting processability.

Among permanent magnet materials, forged aluminum nickel cobalt magnet has the lowest reversible temperature coefficient and can operate at temperatures as high as 500 ℃.

4. Ferrite magnet

Ferrite magnets are permanent magnets mainly made of SrO or BaO and Fe2O3. Compared with other permanent magnet materials, its characteristics are that ferrite magnets are hard and brittle, with relatively low magnetic energy. But it's not that easy to demagnetize, it's not that easy to rust, the manufacturing process is simple, and it's cheap and good quality. Therefore, ferrite magnets have the highest production volume among all magnet manufacturing industries and are widely used in industrial manufacturing.
